Home away from home ...
At Hooyoga we offer retreats for individuls or small groups up to 6 people. Here in the Swedish countryside you can relax and rejuvenate, and be as lazy or active as you like. We help you create your own personal retreat that caters exactly for your needs or you can choose to join one of the scheduled retreats. Leave the bustle of every day life behind, breathe in the fresh air, enjoy a tasty healthy meal in the kitchen of the farmhouse, treat yourself to a massage, a gentle yoga class, a sauna, do nothing, take a walk in the nearby forest, and if you like; explore the area with its many interesting cultural sights. We have 2 lovely decorated rooms with comfortable beds in our old farmhouse and the possibility of renting more rooms in a charming guesthouse nearby. Personalized Yoga Retreats (1- 6 pers) start from 2 nights. Read more
Lisan and Jan have created a unique ambience. Their place (both house and garden) is absolutely delightful. On arrival, as if stepping into a warm bath, one relaxes and feels at ease immediately. Even more so after a great massage and stress-free yoga session. And the food... ah the food - what a treat; one delicious surprise after another! Never knew healthy could be so gorgeous. I come away feeling rested, refreshed and very alive every time. (Moon from the Netherlands)
We stayed for a week at Jan and Lisan swedish loghouse so lovingly restored by Jan, with sumptous breakfasts prepared by Lisan, sitting in the morning sun outside the house at a wooden table, sipping our early morning tea and coffee after our morning meditation. Later taking off and going down in the river in the canoe, resting on one of the little islands in the lake. Then at night sitting at an open fire in the garden, talking about life and allowing silence to fall in. Later falling asleep in our cosy room only to wake up to a new day of more treassures to be discovered in that tranquil spot prepared with so much love and care and where we were offered such a warm welcome which held us so tenderly. Yoga i Hoo
''Yoga must not be practiced to control the body: it is the opposite, it must bring freedom to the body, all the freedom it needs'' – Vanda Scaravelli
Lisan has a somatic approach to yoga, meaning she sees yoga as a creative process, rather than a static one. Through her years of practising, Lisan has developed her own style and her yoga has become a slowing down, a process of exploration and undoing, an invitation to connect with the simple joy of our being. A listening and a moving from the inside out.
The classes are suited for both beginners and more experienced practitioners. Meditation is woven into morning or evening classes. Read more
'With a blend of playfulnes, curiousity, knowledge, experience, creativity and deep listening Lisan founded her own unique heartful style of yoga. She inspires me on my journey of going inward, being present with what is, and trusting my inner proces.' - Åse F. (Torsåker)
’I like Lisan’s style of ‘teaching’. She isn’t ‘putting us through the yoga poses (a lot of yoga teachers do, sadly) but more an exploration of postures. It felt so good to slow down our practice together and talk about and feel the benefits. I love the way Lisan shares her understanding and enjoyment’.
Yonnie Frazer (Edinbrough)
Lisan is a wise and generous teacher, I learned a lot of new things and my love for yoga has been totally renewed. Claire (Bristol)
Lisan offers deep relaxing Ayurvedic body and face massages and in the cold winter, gentle hotstone massage. There are other wonderful treatments possible to book from a local massage therapist.
During retreats healty and delicious vegetarian meals are served in the big kitchen of the old farmhouse. Read more
