The Farm house

The old farmhouse dates from 1851. When Jan, Lisan and their son Tim moved to Sweden in 2005 they started out in a bungalow nearby where they lived for the first 3 years while Jan began with the huge renovation of what would become their new home. There was no kitchen, no sanitary, no heating and no water to start with but there was an amazing frame of big old timber logs! And a lot of old dust as the house had been deserted for over 25 years.

It has been a huge labour of love from Jan to build and transform the place into a warm and comfortable house where people find it easy to feel at home. Lisan complemented Jan perfectly with her eye for colour and detail and her feeling for interior decorating. They collected the majority of materials and furniture second hand, through kind neighbours that donated old doors they still had standing in the barn, by buying stuff at the Swedish loppis ( flea markets), or by trading services. The result is a very personal and eclectic home that Jan and Lisan have opened up to share and enjoy with others.

Thank you so much for these wonderful days! I truly enjoyed the yoga outside in the orchid
and upstairs in the beautiful attic. Our conversations were inspiring to me and I loved the
food and the surroundings. I felt right away at home and deeply rested after the weekend.
There was plenty of space for me to be myself when I wanted to. Thanks again and till next
time! I'll be back for sure.

I can truly recommend to treat yourself to a weekend in Hoo! The food was healthy and
yummie, the yoga felt absolutely great and I fell in love with the old house and its enormous

soul. Jan and Lisan know how to take care of their guests. Thank you both so much, I felt seen and listened to and I leave inspired and well rested.
