After having fallen in love with the beautiful Mani peninsula in Greece, Lisan returns to teach at the Spirit of Life centre for already the fifth year, in May 2019.
This year, she will co-teach with Kerry Kousiounis.
Together, they combine gentle hatha yoga, qi gong, yoga nidra, pranayama and meditation.
Optional, are a guided walk on Wednesday and two visits to authentic mountain villages where we’ll meet the locals and enjoy authentic traditional Greek cuisine. These little villages are hidden gems and far from any tourist traps.
The program leaves plenty of time to relax, visit the lovely harbour for a coffee in one of the local taverna, stroll along the beach, have a swim in the crystal clear blue sea, enjoy a massage or just simply rest.
I've enjoyed several yoga holidays in different places but spirit of life is now my favourite. Kerry & Wendy have created a place with a magical quality based on a combination of ancient land and customs, deep love of Nature and respect for yoga and healing. Gentle Hatha yoga
More yang and dynamic oriented.
We will begin each session by taking some time to quiet the mind, focusing on the present moment, becoming aware of the breath and creating space between the breaths.
Then we will move into some somatic movements to wake up the body followed by a well rounded mix of hatha yoga poses.
At the end of the class we return to the same quiet meditative state again, which of course, we never really left.
More yin and restorative orientated.
Nourish and stimulate your organs and balance the flow of energy in your body. These classes targets the deeper connective tissues, the ligaments and the joints. Because the practise is slow, it helps develop our inner listening.
Qi gong classes
Lead by Kerry, are like “moving meditation,” designed to improve ease, strength and flexibility as well as to cultivate qi, the vital energy of life.
All yoga and qi gong classes are suited for both beginners and more experienced practisioners
Each day, (except for wednesday when we ave our walking day) after our morning yogasession, we’ll have a yummie brunch at the centre. On both the evening of our arrival and on departure day, Kerry, ( the owner of the centre, our host, restaurateur for twenty years and experienced vegetarian cook) serves us fabulous Greek (organic) cuisine with plenty of mezes and organic wine. On the other evenings we wander down to the local village to enjoy a meal by the harbourside. The family run tavernas offer fresh fish and a good selection of vegetarian dishes.
is either at the Spirit of life centre or in shared / single hotelrooms in the lovely village within walking distance from the yogacentre. The walk takes about 10 minutes.

Early bird price 800€ / 8250 sek when payed for in full by 01-03-'19
Single occupancy 950€/ 9750 sek ( some 2-pers apartments have one bedroom and a bed in the livingroom so perhaps no need to book a single room when you come with a friend)
After 01-03-'19 both rates go up with 50€/ 500 sek each.

Our retreat is limited to 12 people, you can secure your space with a 300€ deposit.
The remaining amount should be paid at the latest 3 weeks before arrival.
Cancellation policy: In case you cancel before 14-04-'19 the full amount will be paid back minus 100 euro cancellation fee. Thereafter no refund is possible.

I really like Lisan’s style of teaching. She isn’t ‘putting us through the yoga paces’ but offers more of an exploration of postures. It felt good to slow down our practice and talk together about and feel the benefits. I love the way Lisan shares her understanding and enjoyment. I think that both the Spirit of Life and Lisan and Lisa engendered a real sense of belonging. So I was only there a week but it felt like being part of something, a little community. The food was absolutely scrummy, I felt rested and happy - what more could I want?!

is from the Netherlands, currently living in Sweden where she runs her own yogastudio, Hooyoga.
Her experience of yoga is that once we start to really inhabit our body and awaken our sensitivity, we start to connect with ourselves and with others from a much deeper place of joy and confidence. It is the tapping into this ongoing process, that she likes to share with others. Together with her partner Jan, she offers private yoga and meditation retreats from their lovely old renovated farmhouse.
Lisan is a certified Hatha yoga teacher, trained at the Yandara Yoga institute in Mexico, she is also certified in Medical Yoga through IMY MediYoga® in Stockholm and did a Restorative Yoga teaching training with Marla Meenakshi Joy.
She loves to travel and continues to explore through taking courses and workshops with inspiring teachers in Sweden and abroad.
is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher. His 25+ years long yoga journey continues to be one of personal growth and healing. Kerry is a sympathetic teacher who understands that yoga is a personal journey for each student. "Because of our different circumstances (age, sex, physical health and ability), I teach with each individual student in mind. Iyengar yoga is well known for the individual adjustments that are given to students to help them understand and progress in their practice. Yoga allows the mind/body to activate a healing process and my teaching encourages this personal sensitivity to the intelligence that resides in our bodies."
Kerry is a tai chi, qi gong and zen shiatsu practitioner, as well as an accomplished cook.
And yes, he’ll be doing some of his wonderful cooking for us this week!
